The much-talked about film Udta Punjab by filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has reportedly been stopped by the censor board.
The film, based on the subject of drug abuse, was reportedly not granted an all-clear because of “excessive swearing.”
Mr Kashyap has decided to appeal against the decision.
Sources close to the filmmaker allege that the film was stopped for political reasons as the state will hold elections next year.
The film, starring Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor Khan, is to release on June 17.
