Actors Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor and filmmaker Imtiaz Ali embarked on a rail trip from Mumbai to Delhi, where they are promoting their upcoming film Tamasha. Deepika said she had a ‘lot of fun’ as she found such journeys ‘very romantic’.
Deepika, 29, who boarded the Suvidha Express from Mumbai Central railway station yesterday, said love for food and travel was a common factor that bound her with Ranbir and the Highway filmmaker.
“Train journeys are very romantic. I think we all have travelled by train individually. And travelling by train, choice of food and restaurants are the things the three of us have in common. We are always talking about new places and travelling,” Deepika said.
“We know travel is a very important part of Imtiaz’s life and in the movies that he makes. I am happy that the media could share this experience with the three of us. The idea was to have fun,” she added.
Ranbir, who credited Deepika with the idea, said he enjoyed this ‘new and unique way’ of promoting the film.
“When the idea was proposed, we all jumped at it. When you market a film, there is a set pattern. But usually with Imtiaz he likes to break those patterns. In Rockstar, we travelled in a bus and the media jumped at that. It’s a very interesting idea,” he said.
Tamasha opens this Friday.
